Job Description Job Description We are looking for a skilled
Senior Accountant to manage the financial operations and reporting
for a diverse portfolio of real estate assets. This role requires a
detail-oriented individual capable of overseeing accounting
processes, ensuring financial accuracy, and collaborating with
various departments such as property management, leasing, and
construction. The ideal candidate is experienced in real estate
accounting and committed to maintaining high standards in financial
analysis and reporting. Responsibilities: • Prepare comprehensive
financial statements and reports for a portfolio that includes
retail, office, and other property types. • Manage month-end close
procedures to ensure timely and accurate completion. • Collaborate
with the Property Management team to develop and monitor budgets. •
Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide actionable insights.
• Oversee rental revenue billing processes to ensure accuracy and
timeliness. • Conduct annual reconciliations and estimates related
to organizational spending. • Supervise accounts receivable
activities, including tenant follow-ups and coordination with
property managers. • Review lease agreements to identify financial
implications and assist with lease accounting setup and
maintenance. • Support internal and external audits by preparing
necessary schedules and documentation. • Implement and refine best
practices for real estate accounting processes and internal
controls. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited
institution. • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing a
portfolio of properties in a real estate accounting role. •
Proficiency in Yardi or similar real estate accounting software. •
Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and general
ledger management. • Proven ability to analyze complex financial
data and provide actionable recommendations. • Familiarity with
lease agreements and their financial implications. • Experience in
month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Excellent
organizational and communication skills to collaborate across
departments.
