Job Description:

THIS IS FOR GRAVEYARD SHIFT - starts at 10:00pmPURPOSE:AOI technician to support fine tuning AOI programs during the day shift.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Support AOI in creating programs to support the production report and provide process instructions for manufacturing.
  • Design and optimize manufacturing flow; responsible for driving and preparing manufacturing instructions (process, assembly, rework).
  • Improve yield and quality through process efficiency, reducing scrap and cycle time. Set headcount requirements. Responsible for process quality and driving continuous process improvements to achieve Quality by Process, not by Inspection.
  • Understand customer expectations and take action to meet them.
  • Make decisions to support quick turnaround on samples.
  • Coordinate supply chain procurement activities in support of engineering builds, working closely with the site.
  • Prepare, publish, and review DFX reports with key customer representatives, including issues found and resolved during development, yield reports, and analysis.
  • Transfer new products, processes, tooling, equipment, and technology to/from other sites.
  • Maintain the Process Development schedule, tracking all activities leading to product process introduction.
  • Work independently on a variety of problems of moderate scope, exercising judgment within established procedures.
  • Interact regularly with peers and immediate management in related functions.
  • Set objectives and goals to achieve them.PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1-5 years of hands-on process engineering experience in the PCBA assembly environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (nice to have skills):
  • In-depth knowledge of SMT, PTH, Mechanical assembly/system build, and experience writing work/process instructions.
  • Knowledge of PCB laminates, lead-free soldering, cleaning processes, conformal coating, and robotic dispensing is a plus.
  • Experience with solder printers, SPI, AOI, AXI, wave soldering, and BGA rework machines preferred.
  • Knowledge of soldering materials, processes, temperature profiling, and process debugging, with IPC and J-STD standards.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods (SPC, GRR, DOE) for problem solving and process capability evaluation.
  • Experience in equipment qualification and process validation (IQ, PQ, OQ).
  • PPAP requirements experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with component suppliers for root cause analysis is a plus.
  • Team player with a hands-on attitude, self-motivated, able to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to execute responsibilities independently with guidance on new projects.
  • Excellent skills in math, verbal communication, computer use, troubleshooting, and problem solving in an electronics manufacturing environment are a plus.
