collaboration and service.POSITION SUMMARYThe Data Scientist is
responsible for identifying data science needs and developing and
documenting solutions, reports, dashboards, and performing data
governance tasks in support of DNWest business intelligence
strategies for all business units across DNWest. Report
presentations will be complete with data sources, data model, and
potential business processes requirements needed for the reports.
They may also support data extraction and loading processes as
needed determined by the VP of BIDS. The Data Scientist will also
be involved in implementing statistical models and machine
learning.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work across departments to identify data science needs and
design solutions.
- Work with departments, team members and project partners to
identify data needs, procure the best available data, and determine
appropriate analysis methods.
- Create, test, and modify scripts and reproducible analytical
workflows to support the BIDS team in producing high quality,
discoverable, and reusable data. Such workflows will include data
processing, creating figures, and implementing statistical
models.
- Analyzes Donor Network West's data warehouse, cubes,
transactional, and other data source systems for report writing and
application building.
- Presents report and dashboard data in a way that is most
meaningful and readily accessible to internal customers while
complying with development framework.
- Writes queries using Structured Query Language (SQL),
Transact-SQL (T-SQL), Multi-Dimensional Expressions (MDX), Data
Analysis Expressions (DAX).
- Develops and maintains web based applications such as Microsoft
Power platform.
- Supports data integration projects using Extract Transform Load
(ETL) methodology.
- Support team members in documenting data products and following
metadata standards.
- Administers various data governance tasks and participate in
data governance meetings.
- Collaborates with end users to gather project requirements and
ensure proper testing and validation. Provide support to end users
and project manage as needed.QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with research
approaches and quantitative modeling.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, oral,
listening, and presentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, commitment to customer service
(internal and external).
- Strong presentation and data visualization skills.
- Self-starter, high level of initiative, proven proactive
thinker.

the demands of a busy office environment.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science,
Informatics, or equivalent area and at least 3 years of relevant
work experience.
- Fluency in Python and/or R, or fluency in another data science
scripting language.
- Strong understanding and experience with Microsoft SQL Server
database platform and SQL Server reporting and Analytics Services
(SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS).
- Direct experience in report writing tools and data analysis
tools such as Microsoft SSRS, Business Intelligence (BI) tools such
as Power BI.
- Familiarity and/or Experience applying machine learning.
- Experience in creating applications using Power Platform
- Knowledge and experience in data ETL. Experience utilizing data
warehouses, cubes, and relational databases to pull reporting
information.
- Certifications in Azure data services or advanced analytics
preferred$97,650 - $122,010 a yearProvided compensation data is
subject to change based on location and work status. Salary data
provided by third party sites do not accurately reflect our pay
structure.
