Job Description:
DESCRIPTION OF JOB SCOPE QC Specialist is an employee in the
Quality Control Department. This role is a critical member to our
Operations team and is responsible to assist the Quality Assurance
Manager to monitoring sanitation cleanliness activities and
inspecting safety devices (exit lamp, fire extinguisher, eye wash
station). This position has direct responsibility for ensuring all
work activities under its span of control are performed with
attention to the highest standards of food quality, safe processes,
compliance with all appropriate legal requirements. Qc Specialist
assist in training new employees. DESCRIPTION OF JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES: Adhere to all Classic Salads Food Safety and GMP
Policies, including Basic Policies (TRN-0101, TRN-102, TRN-103.
TRN-104. TRN-105. TRN-1061. Complete Classic Salads Quality
Standard Operating Procedure Training (CS-SOP-5010. CS-SOP-5011,
CS-SOP-5012, CS-SOP-039, CS-SOP- CS-SOP-043. CS-SOP-046.
CS·SOP-048, CS-SOP·049, CS-SOP-051. CS-SOP-052, CS·HCP-5600.
CS-HCP-5601. Perform daily ATP Swabbing tests to product contact
surface areas within the processing rooms. Document ATP Swabbing
test results and take immediate corrective action. Report results
to Sanitation Supervisor. Verify daily sanitizer solution for hand
dips, core, knives, shovels, foot dips, etc. Replenish hand
sanitizer containers. Perform daily "pre-operational" inspection of
processing areas. Document findings of Daily Pre-operational
Inspection. Report findings to Sanitation Supervisor. Perform a
monthly safety inspection to fire extinguishers, emergency exit
lamp, and eye showers. Document safety inspection findings and take
necessary corrective action. Report findings to QA Manager. Perform
weekly inspection to pest control devices. Document findings of
pest control inspection and take necessary corrective action.
Report findings to QA Manager. Perform daily inspection of Portable
Hand Washing Stations. Document findings of inspection of Portable
Hand Washing Stations and take necessary corrective action. Perform
weekly Glass and Brittle Plastic Inspection. Document inspection
results of "Glass and Brittle Plastic" and take necessary
corrective action. Report findings to QA Manager. Take weekly
inventory of sanitation chemicals and other chemicals used at the
QC Department. Cross-train to perform tasks of QC Technicians if
necessary (Trim Line, Pack Out, Clamshell, Vaccum Tube, and Dock QC
Stations). Assist QA Supervisor to support the Hold and Release
Program for raw materials and finished products. Perform weekly
finished product sensory shelf-life evaluation and document
findings. Report findings to QA Supervisor. Monitor routinely
testing done by Tote Washers. Perform any other QC task as
necessary. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): bump
cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, eye protection
(goggles), face shield, gloves, slip-resistant shoes, wet/rain
suit, apron, etc. Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Able to work under pressure and time restraints Able to work in a
cold/wet environment (34. 36 °F Degrees). Report all injuries and
incidents big or small EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE High school
diploma or equivalent is preferred. Associate's degree with food
science, agriculture, or related discipline is highly desired.
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Produce Quality Assurance or
a related field. Bilingual (English and Spanish) a must.
Demonstrated knowledge or experience in required computer
applications Microsoft Office. Ability to manage priorities and
workflow within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Must be able to travel with the Company to Yuma Arizona during
winter months (mid-November to end March). PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
REQUIRED OF THE EMPLOYEE TO PERFORM THE JOB CONSTANTLY FOR 8 OR
MORE HOURS WALKING, STANDING, BENDING NECK, BENDING WAIST,
SQUATTING, CLIMBING, TWISTING NECK, TWISTING WAIST, BOTH HANDS USE
(SIMPLE GRASPING, POWER GRASPING, FINE MANIPULATION, PUSHING AND
PULLING, REACHING BELOW AND ABOVE SHOULDER LEVEL) DAILY LIFTING AND
CARRYING REQUIREMENTS FOR 8 OR MORE HOURS FREQUENTLY CARRY AND LIFT
1-25 LBS 100 FEET OR LESS CONSTANTLY, TEAM LIFT 25-50 LBS 20 FEET
OCCASIONALLY DESCRIBE THE HEAVIEST ITEM REQUIRED TO CARRY AND THE
DISTANCE TO BE CARRIED: TEAM LIFT 25-50 LBS 5 Gal chemical
container 20 FEET OCCASIONALLY
